Christian Dior Spring 2009 RTW

Theme: Futuristic Baby-Doll Frocks and Sheer Dominatrix Gowns

Christian Dior had one thing to say about this season: DRESSES!
They came in all shapes, colours and prints.

Pink, orange, beige and a yellowy lime was the main colour palette for daywear, where dresses remained slightly above the knee at all times. Waist-clinching belts were a popular accessory, while sheer was presented as the main statement – a type of ‘Nude Chic’, if you will.
Legs were all bare and jackets were left to a bare minimum, suggesting this season is all about being fun, young and sexy.

Eveningwear displayed a more elegant and sophisticated outlook, with long gowns – all sheer – in white, gray and black. Dresses here were more structured with boostiers, but still kept the sexy theme with flowy fabrics.

Overall: John Galliano shows us what he does best – versatility. Each dress was unique and desirable.

NOTES:

- There was only ONE piece that was not a dress. Black leggings with a jewelled, waist-clinching halter-top.

Rock on.
